Dr Julia Shaw on memories that aren't true - The Life Scientific Can you get someone to believe they committed a crime (when they didn't)? Julia Shaw tells Jim Al-Khalili about her life and work. As an interesting sidenote for NLP students, she describes phenomena which 'The Amazing Kreskin' performed in the 1970s and wrote about in his book in 1984 and which Derren Brown performed in 2011 (The Guilt Trip). She says that she didn't need to use hypnosis then goes on to describe hypnosis pretty well in her experimental method! |
